Lone Star
When I first started quilting 5.5 years ago, I saw a lone star quilt and knew immediately that I wanted to make one. I also knew that it was probably beyond my capabilities at that point, as a new quilter.
About a year later, I saw this pattern (which I have since seen called "Broken Lone Star" and got my nerve up to try a miniature version of it. That went really well and it's now posted on my blog at http://kristaquilts.blogspot.com/2009/08/miniature-lone-star.html
At that point (4 years ago) I decided I was definitely doing one for my bed, and I bought all the fabric. But life intervened, and the fabric sat in my stash for 4 years. I finally cut into it this past spring, and finished the quilt this week.
