Quilt Qua
Helping to Expand Your Creative Expression
For Emily
Here's a quilt I made for the baby girl of one of my oldest childhood friends. He, rather than the baby, served as the inspiration for the fabric selection, so the colors are darker and lean toward the masculine. The fabrics are Michael Miller and Alexander Henry. I also used an upcycled pinstripe sheet from Martha Stewart that is reminiscent of men’s shirting. The quilt is finished off with black bias tape. Because it’s so much bolder and more masculine than any other quilt I’ve made, it is by far my favorite. I think the fabrics coordinated well with each other, and still manage to be appropriate and colorful for a baby girl.
