Blessings Remembered - based on a 1930's Antique Quilt
Blessings Remembered is based on a Antique quilt owned by Julie from Juliekquilts.
Julie featured her Blessings Quilt on her blog last November and I fell in love with it.
In January this year I purchased a lovely bundle of blue fabrics and placed it on my shelf.
February 2008 we received an invitation to our friends, daughters Wedding.
The idea was born then, with Julie's Blessings quilt, the bundle of blues and eight and a half metres of cream background.(for a Wedding Quilt)
I emailed Julie for permission and to see whether I had the dimensions of the quilt, correct.
As I pieced the quilt, I became attached to it and realized I would not be able to part with it when the time came.
Once the quilt was custom quilted with a 1930's design, I felt guilty as it was the first time the person I was making the quilt for would not be receiving it.
I posted a giveaway on my blog, to name the quilt. I felt the quilt had to have its own name and represent Julie's quilt.Marcie from Patchalot More came up with my quilt's name.
In all the year's I have been quilting, Blessings Remembered would be to date my best quilt that I have made.
Needless to say I had one month to make another quilt in blue/cream, which I managed to do.The design was a nine patch in a nine patch, very pretty and the bride and groom loved it.
