Walk to Sand Beach
We have spent summers in Maine since I was a girl. Two summers ago we were visiting family on Mount Desert Island. Most activities there involve a hike with a reward at the end. This walk was to "Sand Beach", a wonderfully rocky, turbulent beach with sand - uncommon in this region of Maine. And so the colors and patterning are meant to capture the light through the trees, the light off the water and rocks. You cannot smell the pine, or taste the blueberries and feel the kelp actually, but maybe in your minds eye!
