Misty Mountain Quilters Guild has approximately 180 members, most of whom live in either Clay or Cherokee counties in North Carolina or Fannin, Towns or Union counties in Georgia. The range of knowledge for these quilters is from beginners to very experienced in areas which include piecing, applique', foundation piecing, three-dimensional quilting, landscapes, embroidery, hand quilting, and/or machine quilting.
General Guild Meetings occurs on the 4th Monday of each month, except June and December, 1:30 pm at the United Methodist Church of Union County located just west of Blairsville on GA76 in the Fellowship Hall. Meetings have a business segment and a program segment. During the program portion, speakers share their knowledge of quilting with the members. Prior to each general meeting is a social time that starts at 1:00 pm. Misty Mountain Qullt Show is held during odd numbered years, e.g. 2007 or 2009, during the 3rd weekend of October.
